Newsletter - december 2014
The ICDM (NPC) sends out a newsletter to wrap up the year to all its direct and indirect supporters. This has been a year of the ICDM taking a step forward as it registered as an NPC with the south african relevant government department. The coaches and management worked tirelesly running school and after school programs. The icdm also held a number of events including the youth and heritage day. Now the ICDM is on its mission of creating international network connections and raising funds to keep its progams growing. We fulfilled a number of projects around our normal working schedules which included giving the World changers students a chance to be involved in our programs.
At ICDM the presense of the young ones mean work, without them around we couldn’t be able to implemiment the ideology of a sports and educational motivated community. From when the year starteted we made sure all our programs were running accordingly. If you are interested in seeing detailed list of icdm sporting activities visit http://isithumbacdm .wix.com/icdm.
Since networking with other like minded organisations is our number one priority we hosted a number of such organisations including the BAT center, goethe institute and more on this year alone. This helps our organisation to show to our participants that there are other initiatives around and how privillaged they are to also be having one at their doorsteps and just general networking which is always a positive thing to do for any progressive NPO/C.
ICDM has for the past 5 years been running its programs through partnering with other organisations, at the beginning of 2014 the managers of ICDM found it useful to register as an Non Profit company which aimed at helping the movement to get funds and sustain itself. This has not been an easy road but through unity of all the management team with the coaches this big dream came true and the isithumba community development movement is registered and ensures that all it administration related matters are delt with whilst the work on the ground is also running smoothly. This hard work is done by the local youth voluntarly however the ICDM host international volunteers annually.
2014 school programs were the most difficult of all years, this was purely because of the fact that the ICDM has no funds at the moment and is its mission of getting funds through different potential foundations, we ran school programs until september. We were at least able to build a much rather strong partnerships with the schools.
The ICDM is currently looking for an admin volunteer to ensure the fundrasing work continues smoothly for the organisation to be able to run it programs. We do still have space for our local world changers academy volunteers working in our project. The world chnagers is a non profit organisation educating teenageres about life improvements, for their students to complete their trainings they have to work with an existing NGO and ours is one of a few ones doing that. We think its very beneficial for our programs and for the students.
Through the northpark univesity students (urban leaders ) we have now a running website (http:isithumbacdm.wix.com/icdm).
To all our supporters and the people who made our project grow we are very much thankful.
We will continue doing the work in our community and we do believe that making events will be possible still through your magnificent support.
ICDM wishes you all happy holidays.
